YBLC is proud to partner with United Way of Greater Charlotte for the Mission Connection Linking Leaders with Impactful Causes Networking Event.
Mission Connection is an event that connects professionals who are interested in joining non-profit boards, advisory boards, or committees with grassroots organizations that need their expertise.

This is an exclusive event for members and participants of the YBLC Mentorship Program.
Movie Night at Camp North End
Join YBLC for a free outdoor movie night!
Join us after work for a for a fun night of drinks, snacks, and community. Please get there a few minutes early to grab a spot. Bring a chair or blanket. This event will take place rain or shine. If it rains it will take place at the Ford Factory to keep you nice and dry.

We are excited to announce that our YBLC 2nd Annual Launch Event will be on February 29th from 6:00-8:30 PM!
To commemorate the occasion, we are hosting a launch event to bring our members and the greater Charlotte legal community together for a night of networking and celebration.
We will celebrate Black History Month, the kick off of the YBLC Mentorship Program, and the 1 year anniversary of the founding of YBLC.
Ooohhh and dont worry, if you haven't signed up to be a member yet or signed up to be a mentor for the mentorship program, you will have the opportunity to do so at the Launch Event! We can't wait to see you!! :)
YBLC Mentee Application
Are you a college or law school student looking for a mentor? YBLC aims to host events for aspiring lawyers and provide 1 on 1 mentorship to college and law school students.

YBLC 1 on 1 mentorship consists of:
Be a college or law school student in NC
Meet with your mentor at least once a month
Attend at least 1 event for aspiring lawyers
Be available, respectful, and willing to learn from your mentor
Commit to the mentorship program for the 2024 calendar
YBLC Events for aspiring lawyers may include:
Virtual coffee and/or lunch meet and greets
Service day(s)
Networking mixer
Volunteer opportunities at YBLC events
Dinner with the mentors
Mentor/mentee outings
Resume and Writing Workshops

YBLC Mentorship Program Registration

Purpose| The purpose of the YBLC mentorship program is to provide advice, access to resources, guidance, and leadership to aspiring lawyers
Mentorship Generally| YBLC aims to serve as role models and mentors to aspiring lawyers generally. With that, the YBLC mentorship program includes:
Speaking engagements at high schools, colleges, or law schools in North Carolina
Hosting events or programs for aspiring lawyers
Providing academic and networking resources to persons interested in law school and/or becoming a lawyer
1 on 1| YBLC aims to provide targeted 1 on 1 mentorship to aspiring lawyers by pairing mentees and mentors based on common interests and goals. YBLC 1 on 1 mentorship may include:
Networking
Virtual meetings/In Person Meetings
Attending events
Lunch meetups
Communication via text, email, phone calls, etc.
Providing access to information
Mentor Requirements:
Be a YBLC Member
Meet with mentee monthly either virtually or in person
Attend at least 2 general mentorship program events
Be a resource to your mentee and provide support as needed
Commit to being a mentor for the duration of the 2024 calendar year
We expect mentees to be assigned by early Spring.

Exclusive Advanced Screening of "The Burial"
YBLC has been extended a special invitation for an exclusive screening of “The Burial” on Tuesday, October 10th. If you are interested in free tickets, please email us at contact@yblofcharlotte.org.
“The Burial is based on a well-known litigator Willie Gary, a 1974 alumnus of the North Carolina Central University (NCCU) School of Law. Gary will be played by Jamie Foxx. The film depicts Gary’s legal battle to save Jeremiah O’Keefe’s Mississippi funeral home from a corporate giant.
Even if you can’t make the advanced screening, we strongly suggest you check this movie out!

Join us for a rejuvenating yoga event focused on promoting mental health! Our experienced yoga instructor will guide you through a gentle yoga practice designed to calm the mind and reduce stress.
Cost: $15 (includes yoga and tea)
Burnout Prevention CLE
Join us for a CLE designed for anyone who want to prioritize their well-being and learn how to prevent burn-out.
*Pending CLE credit | Cost: $5 for members, $10 for non-members
